Andréa Watts – Module Convener for Coaching

For the Disability and Ableism in Coaching Workshop. I would highly recommend Mary as a guest speaker at any event. The topic she addresses is incredibly important and Mary’s playful yet provocative style ensures anyone who hears her will want to action what they’ve learnt. Mary’s talk was interesting and insightful as she shared openly and honestly her personal experiences of someone living with a disability alongside her extensive knowledge of the topic. Her impact was evident. From raising awareness of the medical and social models of disability and the level of interaction from students, including the disclosure of a disability. Importantly this impact extended beyond the session as students continued to share how disability and ableism affected them either directly or indirectly. As an online lecturer Mary’s effervescent character and made her ideal for engaging with students in a virtual environment.
